Repaso al Estado de la Responsabilidad Social Empresarial en la Isla
Lun, 2009-06-08 11:28 — adminRecientemente Business Puerto Rico entrevistó a Lilimar López Urrutia, fundadora de ConectaRSE y consultora de RSE de alcance global, para repasar y comparar la acogida e impacto de la Responsabilidad Social Empresarial en la Isla.
“The last two years have seen a real improvement in private sector commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility in Puerto Rico in terms of public policy discussion” said López, “even when it involves risky issues, like the Advisory Council on Economic and Fiscal Reform (Consejo Asesor de Reconstrucción Económica y Fiscal, CAREF by its Spanish acronym). Hard times call for action; I’m proud to see that some people in the private sector have stood up to the challenge.” While politics have always been the daily bread for many Puerto Ricans, it was not until recently that the private sector stepped in to actively help the government overcome a crisis.
When López compares the level of understanding of CSR in the island to the levels seen in some Latin American countries or other places around the world, she realizes there is still a long way to go. “One of the biggest problems the CSR industry faces in Puerto Rico is that many people do not realize the full benefits of a truly committed CSR strategy. Many believe that making donations is all they have to do. But I have witnessed the private sector’s learning curve; they have realized that the government cannot do everything, or solve every problem. We are learning that we must all act together to fix things.

Cuarto Encuentro de Responsabilidad Social Empresarial "Responsabilidad de Todos"

El 26 de octubre de 2007 celebramos el Cuarto Encuentro de
Responsabilidad Social Empresarial. El tema de este año fue
"Responsabilidad de Todos". Este evento fue en El Hotel San Juan de
Isla Verde.
RSE en cada Nuevo Día
Oliver Exterminating, la compañía especializada en el control de plagas, se convirtió en la primera compañía de esa industria en Puerto Rico que obtiene una certificación de calidad a nivel internacional.
Richard Wagner, gerente general de la empresa, informó que la certificación ISO 9001:2000 la obtienen en momentos en que Oliver Exterminating cumple 50 años de operaciones en la Isla.
